Duration: 7 days - 6 nights.
Level of difficulty: No difficulty
at all. No previous experience required. Just get ready to practice
a physical activity involving from light to moderate effort
Lodging:
Four nights in Neumeyer Mountain Hut (it belongs to the Bariloche
Andean Club), located in Challhuaco Valley. The hut has all the
necessary conveniences: showers, toilettes, electric generator,
dinning room and a big bedroom, with many couches and mattresses
on which each one can lay his sleeping bag. The lasts two nights
are spent in hostel or Inn in Bariloche.
Meals: All meals from Day
1 afternoon snack to Day 5 lunch. Lunch may consist of main course
and dessert or packed lunch, according to the scheduled activity.
Beverages not included.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
 Reception
and transfer by 4 x 4 Van to the Neumeyer Mountain Hut (1,320 m
- 4,330 ft), about 17 km (10 ½ miles) from Bariloche. Trekking in
the hut´s surroundings: Laguna Verde (Green Lagoon) and Mirador
del Pedregoso (Pedregoso´s Look-out). Dinner and overnight in the
hut.
Day 2:
Trekking with snowshoes through Valle de los Perdidos (Valley of
the Lost Ones). While trekking we will stop to have a picnic lunch.
Dinner and overnight in the hut.
Day 3:
 Trekking
with snowshoes to Mirador del Ñirihuau. While trekking we will stop
and have a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight in the hut.
Day 4:
Free day. Options: ascent with snowshoes to Challhuaco's summit
(2,080 m - 6,800 ft); nordic ski or mountain ski. Dinner and overnight
in the hut.
Day 5:
Free morning. Options: trekking with snowshoes or Nordic ski. After
lunch, transfer to the city hostel or Inn. Accommodation.
 Day
6:
Free day in Bariloche. Several options: suggest to have an alpine
ski day in Catedral Ski Center.
t Day 7:
Transfer to the Airport or Bus Station. End of our services.
Includes: Reception and
transfer to Neumeyer Mountain hut (all wheel drive vehicles). Transfer
from hut to city hostel or Inn and from hostel or Inn to departure
point. Accommodation in mountain hut: 4 nights. Accommodation in
city hostel or Inn: 2 nights. Hut meals: as specified above. Full-time
English speaking mountain guide; snowshoes and poles.
Inn lodging: The Inn lodging rates are for double occupancy
bases. If you want single room lodging please contact us about extra
charges that apply
Not included: Meals in
Bariloche. Beverages. Medical assistance. Tips.
Price
per person: (minimum 4 people)
Required
equipment: Small Backpack (30 litres); sleeping bag;
robust trekking shoes plus and extra pair; thermal clothing; full
waterproof garments (jacket, overpant and gaiters); thermal hat;
thermal gloves (2 pairs); sunglasses with UV protection; sunblock
lotion; water container; small flashlight and plastic bags.
