Activity: Basic Rock Climbing and Rapelling course.

Season: All year round.

Duration: half day (4 hours of Activity).

Level of difficulty: Open to everyone aged from 6. No experience required at all.


Includes: Transport. Technical rock climbing equipment. Fully qualified English speaking instructor.

Not included: Climbing shoes. Snacks or light meals.


Program:

Transport from Bariloche to Piedras Blancas (White Rocks) in Mount Otto, 5 km (3 miles) from the city. Once at the bottom of the wall and after participants are instructed on equipment characteristics and climbing basics, the activity starts with very simple climbings. In this way each one gains confidence in mountain enviroment and gear used. Then, gradually and according to the participants performance, we continue climbing other walls, along with descents sliding down a rope of different lengths (rapelling technique), from low angle to vertical rock.

Once the activity is over, participants are driven back to Bariloche.

Clothing and equipment suggested: Day pack, jacket or storm shell, thermal pullover (fleece or similar), comfortable pants (shorts, tights or jogging pants), light-weight and comfortable shoes.
